When Paved magazine’s sister publication, Bike, was launched in 1994, the mountain bike boom was nearing a peak. The bike industry was throwing money at racing as fast as it could, but there really wasn’t a magazine out there that spoke to the true mountain bike fanatic—the person who lived for the ride and just wanted to be entertained by great stories and photography. Eighteen years later, Bike magazine is the one mountain bike publication that people love to read cover to cover.
It’s the same with Paved—after just one issue, it’s clear that it is already following in its successful sibling’s footsteps.
Packed full of the world’s greatest road bike photography and intelligent, inspiring and honest stories, Paved is for the throngs of people who relate to the raw passion of riding. Its target audience is broad and inclusive. The common denominator: People who define themselves by their love of riding bikes on pavement.
Since you’ve found us here on the web, we know you are one of us. And we appreciate your patience as we begin the task of filling pavedmag.com with photos and stories that are worthy of its printed cousin.

The first issue of Paved is fantastic. Eye-catching cover photo is backed up by some fantastic articles including five profiles of cycling pioneers. Being an old-schooler, I’ve known of them all for years, but know them much better thanks to these profiles.
Clean design and great images throughout. Looking forward to more!
Congrats guys on the first issue! Great feel, amazing pics and very interesting articles. Love, love, love it!

Outstanding first publication! Kudos to the Paved crew who knuckled down to bring this first issue to realization!

Subscription plan? Lots of folks seem to be asking. I have some gifts I would like to give as well.
Looking to subscribe also. Articles spoke to my cycling core and amazing photos. Love the articles on the legends and the names I followed as a kid.
Love the new Magazine. I am new to cycling and have been reading differrent mags for the past few months. I really like the style photos and artciles in this magazine. A great change from the typical cycling mag that just writes positive reviews on bikes that sponsor their magazine. Cant wait for the next issue.
Seriously, how do you subscribe to this mag????
This new issue is so spot on featuring the riding most of us do or new styles we can actually aspire to no matter our skill at present. Racing is cool too but I can get more than enough of that coverage in many places. Paved is opening up the dialogue on road riding and I hope that includes more focus on the unpaved road as well. Great articles and photos artfully put together. Thanks, Chern… roadwise since 1984.
