I’m sad to report that my right-hand man Kevin Rouse has sustained some serious injuries in a bicycle crash while attending a new-product launch in Italy. Details are a bit vague, but it seems Kevin’s accident was the result of being at the wrong place at the wrong time, and hitting a pothole or similar road hazard—something that, unfortunately, could happen to any of us.
To respect Kevin’s privacy, I won’t reveal the details of his injuries, only that they’re serious and that he’ll require surgery. His recovery, no doubt, will be tedious, and will seem to him to take entirely too long. But I do expect to see him back on duty for Paved magazine and www.pavedmag.com soon.
Kevin is a good man and a good friend—I hope you’ll keep him in your thoughts. —Joe Parkin
