Horse Cycles: Mac’s Oathkeeper — Track Bike
Thomas Callahan, the builder behind Horse Cycles was kind enough to share his latest creation for this week’s installment of Ferrous Friday. While a relative newcomer, Callahan’s creations seem to belie his five years in the frame-building game. This particular creation, a bespoke track bike featuring a particularly aggressive stance, garners its poise from a Columbus SL tubeset, Henry James lugs and a fetching Suntour Superbe build-out.

In case you were wondering, this is what something beautiful looks like.
From the Builder:
“The bike is an aggressive, lugged track bike made with Columbus SL tubing and Henry James Lugs. It has super-steep angles, and paired with a Suntour Superbe group it rides like a dream. Made for a good friend of mine I play polo with, Mac, I really wanted to make sure the bike was perfect. It’s super simple and minimal, but shines when you mount up.”
As for the brand, Callahan had this to say in an interview in Brooklyn Magazine: “I like the idea of what a horse means in terms of freedom. A horse was a mode of transportation people used and it helped with the development of this country, and with Horse Cycles, I can reference all of these past meanings and begin to reappropriate the Old World idea of freedom in a way that we can use today.”

That's one happy camper we'll bet. Enjoy it Mac.
