Gears and Loathing: 2013 USA Crits Finals Move to Las Vegas

As if Interbike needed another setting to encourage opportunities for bikes and booze to collide in the bliss of not-so-holy matrimony, the spectator-friendly finals for the USA Crits series have been moved to Las Vegas for 2013.

Specifically set to coincide with the trade show, the course will be on the grounds of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center itself—the new home of Interbike for 2013 after a long run in the Sands Convention Center.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. – May 15, 2013 – Interbike, announced a partnership with USA CRITS today to host the final series race at Interbike this Fall. The USA CRITS Finals, presented by Interbike, will take place on the grounds of the Interbike International Expo (Mandalay Bay Convention Center), on the evening of Thursday, September 19, 2013. Interbike attendees will be able to walk directly off the show floor and onto the event area, where racing will take place under the lights between 6pm-10pm (PST).

“Having this event in Interbike’s Las Vegas backyard is going to be a fantastic addition to the show,” said Justin Gottlieb, Interbike’s Communications & PR Director. “Attendees will have access to a new outdoor area just beyond the show floor that will be active Wednesday through Friday – and I think we’ll have a huge crowd to witness this awesome spectator-friendly race.”

Now in its seventh year, the USA CRITS Championship Series is the premiere cycling series in the United States. USA CRITS features a 10 race series that started in Tucson, AZ earlier this year. The men’s and women’s champion will be crowned following the men’s pro race in Las Vegas.

“We are excited to bring our uniquely popular brand of American speed-inspired cycling to the worlds’ foremost bicycle gathering – Interbike,” said Gene Dixon, co-founder of USA CRITS. “We can’t think of a better way to end the 2013 series than with the leaders of the industry in the electric atmosphere of Las Vegas.”

The USA CRITS finals, presented by Interbike, will be open to the public with no admission fee. This will be an exciting form of entertainment for Interbike attendees and a great kick-off for Interbike by Invitation guests.
