Theater Thursday | Challenge Les Alpes
Michael Cotty is an ambitious individual. Well, ambitious may be a bit of an understatement.
The goal? Cycle from Evian les Bains to Nice—nonstop—across the heart of the Alps. The metrics? A devilish 666-kilometer ride boasting no less than 17 mountain passes—including the Col de la Colombière, Madeleine, Glandon, Croix de Fer, Télégraphe, Galibier, Izoard, Vars, Bonette and Madone. All said and done, they would amount to over 16,000 meters of elevation, with five of them featuring 2,000+ uninterrupted meters of climbing apiece.
“It’s not supposed to be easy,” says Cotty.
Yeah, we’d say that route definitely doesn’t qualify as ‘easy’.
