In this week’s Theater Thursday, we urged you to enroll in the Paved School of Adventure, even assigning a bit of homework right off the bat.
Well, we realized that some of the most effective teaching arises from the “Lead by Example” philosophy, thus we thought we’d lay some groundwork and set an example with a little adventure of our own.
#useyourweekend Adventure No. One
Taking on the mighty Highway 1 route down California’s Big Sur coastline from the Bay Area to San Luis Obispo is something we usually reserve for vacations and special occasions, but that goes against the whole point of the #useyourweekend initiative.
You’d be surprised what you can do on a bike in a single weekend, and to prove our point, we’re reducing our adventure to a single day—because like most folks, that’s sometimes all we get to work with in today’s world of overburdening and over obligating oneself.
But our goal is to prove that the words one-day and epic adventure aren’t mutually exclusive. Our goal is to take back the weekend.
Watch our Instagram feed this Sunday (@pavedmag) for visual documentation of our wanderings and follow our Facebook page and Twitter feed for updates on how miserable, er we mean, how mcuh fun we’re having along the way. Encouragement is welcome, as we’ll most likely be needing it before the odometer even strikes mile 65…
Feel free to join our call to action and plan a little adventure yourselves, just direct your posts toward @pavedmag on Twitter and Instagram and mark them with the hashtag #useyourweekend
For the more verbose, feel free to tell us about your adventure on our Facebook page.
The adventurer of our choosing will be the proud recipient of a Paved prize package and unmatched bragging rights.
Be there or pedal squares.
Happy Trails,
Paved
